|12 June 2018||Play Called off - Course unplayable||Well, the weather had other ideas about us playing golf today. With 20ml of rain overnight, and still falling this morning, the greens were too wet for play, so golf was cancelled.
Whilst at the clubhouse after making that decision, the draw was conducted for our Doubles Knockout. Partners were drawn where requested, and we have 7 pairs in the running.
Drawn out first, thus having a bye this coming week, were Banksie Buckley and Lois Johnston.
The matches to be contested this week are:
Denise Murphy and Robyn MacRae vs Helen Claverdon Jones and Marian Orr - hitting off at 9.45 am on Thursday 14/6
Beth Murray and Deb Kohlman vs Deidre Dawes and Jenny Kerr - hitting off at 10am on Thursday 14/6
Liz Turang and Jenny McSwain vs Grace Parkinson and Lorraine Ryan - hitting off at 10.15 am on Thursday 14/6.
Fingers crossed the course is not too wet!
Having 8 or less pairs in the DKO means that we don\'t need all of the 4 weeks set aside for play. We will therefore hold the Final on Thursday 28/6, thus leaving Thursday 5/7 as an emergency date for the Final, should the course be unplayable on 28/6. Please note this change in your diaries.
In the coming week Rob MacRae, Jenny McSwain and Deb Kohlman will contest the Bacchus Marsh Bowl on Friday 15/6.
Jenny McSwain and Rob MacRae, along with Angela Fooks will play at Ballarat next Monday in the Winter Cup. Best of luck to all.
