Doubles Knockout 2018:
This coming Thursday 28/6 the Doubles KO final will take place, with Denise Murphy and Robyn MacRae meeting Liz Turang and Jenny McSwain. Hit off is at 9.45 and onlookers are welcome. No doubt we will go out for lunch after the match to congratulate our 2018 Doubles knockout Champions.
Yesterday there was a beginners Clinic for the \"Class of 2018\", with local golf pro Paul Powell giving instruction. Some of our 2016 newbies came along too. By all accounts it was a very enjoyable morning, in spite of the hard, white frost which made the golf course sparkle like a winter wonderland. I am delighted to report that we have 3 new members from our class of 2018 - a big welcome to Moira Greenwood, Judy Jolly and Cheryl Blanchard.
In 2 weeks time, on Monday 9th July, we will be running a fun morning for the beginners - 9 holes of Ambrose, followed by lunch at the Shamrock. We will hit off at 9.30 am. Any members who would like to participate are welcome, let me know.
Congratulations to Denise Murphy, who became a great grandmother yesterday to a beautiful baby boy, yet to be named.
Presentation Day Lunch:
Ideas would be welcome for a venue for our 2018 Presentation Day Lunch in December. Please give this some thought - preferably somewhere in or nearby to Kyneton would be best - and bring your ideas next Tuesday for discussion.

|12 June 2018||Play Called off - Course unplayable||Well, the weather had other ideas about us playing golf today. With 20ml of rain overnight, and still falling this morning, the greens were too wet for play, so golf was cancelled.
Whilst at the clubhouse after making that decision, the draw was conducted for our Doubles Knockout. Partners were drawn where requested, and we have 7 pairs in the running.
Drawn out first, thus having a bye this coming week, were Banksie Buckley and Lois Johnston.
The matches to be contested this week are:
Denise Murphy and Robyn MacRae vs Helen Claverdon Jones and Marian Orr - hitting off at 9.45 am on Thursday 14/6
Beth Murray and Deb Kohlman vs Deidre Dawes and Jenny Kerr - hitting off at 10am on Thursday 14/6
Liz Turang and Jenny McSwain vs Grace Parkinson and Lorraine Ryan - hitting off at 10.15 am on Thursday 14/6.
Fingers crossed the course is not too wet!
Having 8 or less pairs in the DKO means that we don\'t need all of the 4 weeks set aside for play. We will therefore hold the Final on Thursday 28/6, thus leaving Thursday 5/7 as an emergency date for the Final, should the course be unplayable on 28/6. Please note this change in your diaries.
In the coming week Rob MacRae, Jenny McSwain and Deb Kohlman will contest the Bacchus Marsh Bowl on Friday 15/6.
Jenny McSwain and Rob MacRae, along with Angela Fooks will play at Ballarat next Monday in the Winter Cup. Best of luck to all.

|24 April 2018||STABLEFORD||Tuesday was a beautiful mild still day and we played stableford Although scores were not brilliant there was little difference between the twelve ladies in the eighteen-hole event. Grace Parkinson (23) was a clear winner with 36 points. Four ladies came in with 32 points and the count back went to the last 6 holes. Beth Murray (22) had the best aggregate having had a par on the 13th and was declared the runner up. The other players with 32 points were Lorraine Ryan (20), Lois Johnston (24) and Jenny Kerr (40). They were all awarded a ball.
Five ladies enjoyed playing the back nine. Marian Orr (45) was the winner on a count back from Sandra Turnbull and Liz Turang, all with 15 points.
Nearest the Pin in A Grade on the 9th went to Grace Parkinson. B grade was on the 11th hole and Jenny Kerr was excited to win her first nearest the pin. On the 17th Liz Turang won.
There was no pennant on Monday because of Golf Victoria’s Autumn Tournament. Hopefully Denise Murphy and Bronwyn Dwyer enjoyed played at Murray Downs. Robyn Mac Rae had the pleasure of playing at Royal Melbourne and Gini Dalton reported an enjoyable Texas Ambrose teaming with three ladies at Gisborne.
