A grade winner was Peter Cameron 84-12-72 from Noel Alldis 87-12-75. B grade and monthly medal winner was Terry Gamble 84-13-71 from Mark Russell 92-18-74. C grade winner was David Stark 95-23-72 on a countback from Graham Hackett 91-19-72. Nearest the pins were Norm Cue on the 4th, Peter Cameron on the 9th, Terry Gamble on both the 11th and 17th. Putting was won by Noel Alldis on a 5 way countback with 28 putts. Super Pin winner was Norm Cue - $30.
23 May 20184BBB Stableford Today was the first day of the annual tournament, the field was rather small, the weather was a great day for golf, we had visitors from Parklands and Nagambie. The winners were Brad Cue (8) and Terry Gamble (13) with 45 points from Pat Clohesy (15) and Mark Sciberras (6) with 42 points. The mixed winners were Tony Dibella (9) and Robyn MacRae (25) with 40 points from Adriasn Hanks (11) and Gini Dalton (19) with 35 points. Nearest the pins were Pat Clohesy on the 4th and Brad Cue on the 9th. Gini Dalton won the ladies nearest the pin on the 9th.
22 May 2018HARDWICKS 4BBB STABLEFORD.Today 68 ladies played on a great day for golf, no wind, over cast and no rain. The A grade winners were Denise Murphy and Joan Hughes from Belvoir Park with 39 points on a countback from Marj Lang and Kaye Francis from Castlemaine. The B grade winners were Helen Young and Jan Baczinski from Trentham with 40 points on a countback from Julie Hanson and Pat Kinell also from Trentham with 40 points. Nearest the pins were Phyllis Mason (Riverside) on the 4th, Deb Kohlman on the 9th, Marion Orr on the 11th and Lorraine Ryan on the 17th. The field enjoyed a scrumptous lunch provided for by the Kyneton ladies who did their usual to die for soup, sandwiches and sweets. A great job again ladies.
19 May 2018STABLEFORD & FINAL RSL SINGLES KNOCKOUT Saturday was the final of the RSL Singles Knockout, Brad Cue defeated Jing Biscocho 5/4. The daily competition was stableford, Noel Alldis (11) with 41 points was the winner from runner up William Dodd (18) with 39 points. Nearest the pins were Mark Russell on the 4th, Noel Alldis on the 9th, Terry Kot on the 11th, Pat Clohesy on the 17th, and second shot to the 18th was Trevor Glenfield. Super Pin winner was Mark Russell - $30 Balls were won by Jesper Hansen (7) with 37 points, Barry Murphy (11) and Glen Jacobs (13) both with 36 points.

Nearest the pins were Pat Clohesy on the 4th and Noel Alldis on the 9th. Balls were won by William Dodd (18), Pat Clohesy (15) and Paul Robinson (3) all with 33 points.

B grade winner was Jenny McSwain (29) with 32 points from runner up Helen Clavendon Jones (43) with 29 points. Nearest the pins were Helen Clevendon Jones on the 11th and Denise Murphy on the17th. Balls were handed to Denise Murphy, Grace Parkinson, Jenny McSwain, Bron Dwyer, Helen Clavendon Jones and Robyn MacRae.

A grade winner was Jesper Hansen ((7) with 32 points from runner up Ross Martin (11) with 31 points. B grade winner was Gordon Docherty (22) with 33 points from runner up Terry Kot (13) with 29 points. Nearest the pins were Jesper Hansen on the 4th, Pat Clohesy on the 9th, Keith Rodda on the 11th, Rob Waters on the 17th and second shot to the 18th was Jesper Hansen who also won the Super Pin. Balls were handed to Jason McClure (5) and Tony DiBella (9) both with 29 points.

Nearest the pins were Ross Foreman on the 4th and Tony DiBella on the 9th. Balls were handed to Noel Alldis (11) with 34 points and David Bath (7) also with 34 points.
08 May 2018STROKE & 2ND ROUND DR. GROVES TROPHYWe had another beautiful day for the second and final round of the Dr WR Groves Trophy and 17 ladies competed. It was pleasing to welcome his granddaughter Rosemary Dowling. Unfortunately, she was unable to play due to a broken toe. In welcoming Rosemary, Grace gave a brief history of the Kyneton Golf Club and told a couple of anecdotes about golf in Dr Grove’s time. Thank you to all the ladies who brought food for lunch. We all enjoyed the food and opportunity for fellowship. Rosemary was pleased to present the trophy and voucher to first time winner Robyn MacRae with two consistent nett rounds of 74. Deb Kohlman comprehensively covered the rules on teeing off. In stroke play if you hit outside the teeing off area you incur a penalty of 2 strokes. However, in match play there is no penalty, but your opponent can choose to ask you to replay the ball from the correct place. In A Grade the winner was Lorraine Ryan (20) gross 94 nett 74 on a countback from Robyn MacRae (24) 98-74. The B Grade winner was Helen Claverdon-Jones (44) gross of 118, nett 74. Runner up was Jenny Kerr (41) 119-79. Balls were won by Lorraine Ryan, Robyn MacRae, Helen Claverdon-Jones, Judy Quick, Beth Murray and Deb Kohlman. Congratulations to all our winners Nearest the Pin in B Grade was on the 4th and went to Helen Claverdon-Jones. I A grade the Nearest the Pin was the 3rd shot on the 18th hole and both Lois Johnston and Robyn MacRae had gobblers for a birdie 3. The winner and first in the hole was Lois Johnston. Pennant on Monday was held at Neangar Park. Both Division 2 and 3 teams were defeated. The best achievement was Bronwyn Dwyer who had to give 17 strokes and won her match. Next week we play Stableford and will be making final plans for the Hardwick’s 4BBB Good luck to Denise Murphy, Robyn MacRae and Joan Gibbs who are playing in the Yvonne Boyd Bowl on Friday at Neangar Park.

B grade and medal winner was Peter Cameron 84-13-71 from runner up Mark Russell 89-17-72. C grade winner was Damien Clear 97-21-76 from runner up Bede Gibson 99-20-79. Nearest the pins were Jason McClure on the 4th, Mark Russell on the 9th, Ross Foreman on the 11th, Peter Cameron on the 17th and second shot to the 18th was Mark Sciberras. Super Pin winner was Jason McClure - $50. Ball were won by Brad Cue, Glen Jacobs, William Dodd, Jason McClure, Tony DiBella and Jesper Hansen. Putting was Won by David Bath with 26 putts.
02 May 20184 BALL BEST BALL STABLEFORD Today, Wednesday was the Les Glanfield Memorial 4BBB Stableford. The winners on the day were Neil Watts (29) and Barry Murphy (11) withy 44 points from runners up Peter Kewniuk (17) and William Dodd (18) with 43 points. 3rd and the winners of the ball competition were Tony DiBella (9) and John Dawson (28) with 42 points. Nearest the pins were Peter Kewniuk on the 4th and Simon Furness on the 9th.
01 May 2018STROKE - MONTHLY MEDALThere was a great turn out for the May Medal and we enjoyed another beautiful day. Before we hit off Denise gave an excellent coverage of the “unplayable ball” scenario and how to interrupt the rule. Unfortunately, many of us had to make use of this rule today. All of the nineteen ladies who played completed in the 18 holes, with the scores counting for the 2nd round of putting, 2nd round of the Joan Kimberley Trophy, 3rd round of the Beatrice Davidson Cup and the 1st round of the Dr Groves Trophy. The monthly Medal and B Grade winner was Helen Claverdon-Jones (45) with a brilliant gross of 111, nett 66. Runner up and winner of the A Grade was Deidre Dawes (19) 90-71. B Grade runner up was Joan Gibbs (25) 100-75 and A Grade runner up was Grace Parkinson (23) 95-72. Balls were won by Helen Claverdon-Jones, Deidre Daws, Grace Parkinson, Judy Quick, Robyn MacRae and Joan Gibbs. Congratulations to all our winners Nearest the Pin in A Grade was on the 4th and went to Robyn MacRae. B grade was on the 17th hole and went to Joan Gibbs Pennant on Monday was held at Belvoir Park. Division 2 had a bye and in Division 3 the team was beaten 4 to 1 with Robyn MacRae being the star. Next week we play stroke again and we look forward to welcoming Rosemary Dowling the granddaughter of Dr Groves for the final round of the Dr Groves trophy. Lunch will be served, and members have been allocated either sandwiches or a sweet to bring. Good luck to those playing in the 4BBB at Castlemaine on Friday.

25 April 2018PAR 3 -- STROKEToday Anzac Day the members played the Par 3 course after a Remembrance Service for our fallen service personell. The winner was Glen Jacobs 69-9-51 on a countback from John Dawson 69-18-51. Nearest the pins were Ash Bolton on the 4th and Damien Clear on the 9th. Balls were handed to David Bath, Ash Bolton and Damien Summers all on nett 52. Congratulations to Norm Cue who hit the perfect shot on the 3rd and had a hole in one.
24 April 2018STABLEFORDTuesday was a beautiful mild still day and we played stableford Although scores were not brilliant there was little difference between the twelve ladies in the eighteen-hole event. Grace Parkinson (23) was a clear winner with 36 points. Four ladies came in with 32 points and the count back went to the last 6 holes. Beth Murray (22) had the best aggregate having had a par on the 13th and was declared the runner up. The other players with 32 points were Lorraine Ryan (20), Lois Johnston (24) and Jenny Kerr (40). They were all awarded a ball. Five ladies enjoyed playing the back nine. Marian Orr (45) was the winner on a count back from Sandra Turnbull and Liz Turang, all with 15 points. Nearest the Pin in A Grade on the 9th went to Grace Parkinson. B grade was on the 11th hole and Jenny Kerr was excited to win her first nearest the pin. On the 17th Liz Turang won. There was no pennant on Monday because of Golf Victoria’s Autumn Tournament. Hopefully Denise Murphy and Bronwyn Dwyer enjoyed played at Murray Downs. Robyn Mac Rae had the pleasure of playing at Royal Melbourne and Gini Dalton reported an enjoyable Texas Ambrose teaming with three ladies at Gisborne. Next week we play stroke with it being the Monthly Medal, 2nd putting, 2nd round of the Joan Kimberley Trophy, 3rd round of the Beatrice Davidson Cup and the 1st round of the Dr Groves Trophy. For the ladies who are interested in the Country Championships and Glenelg Cup entries are now open and can only be made on-line. This year it is held at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort, from the 23-26 July.

17 April 2018DORIS CHAMBERS FOURSOMESToday there was an excellent turnout for the Doris Chambers Foursome with 18 ladies playing, and four ladies playing in the Nine Hole Competition. Jenny McSwain and Beth Murray with a combined handicap of 26, complemented each other scoring 36 stableford points. They will go onto the Doris Chambers final at Sanctuary Lakes on 11th October. Runner up pair was Jan Laidlaw and Ruth Booker (39) who scored 28 points, and coming in third was Judy Quick & Denise Murphy with 27 points. In the Nine Hole competition it was great to welcome back Liz Turang who starred scoring 17 stableford points and winning the competition. Balls were awarded to Beth Murray, Jenny McSwain, Jan Laidlaw, Ruth Booker, Denise Murphy, Judy Quick, Liz Turang and Marion Orr. Nearest the Pin was open to all ladies with Deidre Daws and Sandra Turnbull winning on the 17th and Denise Murphy and Judy Quick winning on the 4th hole. Marion Orr won the Nearest the Pin on the 9th in the Nine Hole event. Congratulations to today’s winners. The second round of pennant was held at Axedale on Monday. In Division 2 Kyneton one played Castlemaine one. The matches were closely contested, and the team finished up square. In Division 3 Kyneton 2 played Mt Alexander 1 and were victorious 3 to2. Last week Robyn MacRae, Jenny McSwain and Lorraine Ryan represented the club at Seymour and finished reasonably well coming about sixth. Good Luck to Denise Murphy and Bronwyn Dwyer who are playing in the Golf Victoria Autumn Tournament at Murray Downs next week. At Kyneton we will be playing stableford. Hardwicks 4BBB Tournament is our next major tournament on Tuesday 22nd May. Please consider who you wish to play with and if you wish to book a cart, do so promptly.

10 April 2018STROKETuesday was an ideal day for golf, no wind and the sun stayed under the clouds for the whole day. The winner of the day was Beth Murray 90-23-67 from runner up Denise Murphy 84-15-69. Nearest the pin was Joan Gibbs on the 4th, and the 9 Hole Nearest the pin winner was Marion Orr on the 9th. The 9 Hole competition was won by Jan Laidlaw 47-17-30. Balls were won by Beth Murray, Denise Murphy, Deb Kohlman and Robyn MacRae. The first round of the ladies pennant was played on Monday 9th. Kyneton 1 played Belvoir Park 1 at Kyneton. 3 of the lost matches went to the 18th. Denise Murphy won 6/5 Lorraine Ryan lost 1 down Deb Kohlman lost 1 down Grace Parkinson won 1 up Bron Dwyer lost 1 down. Belvoir Park 1 defeated Kyneton 1 3/2. We play Castlemaine at Axedale next monday, hopefully the result will be better. Good luck to Division 3 team, they play Mt Alexander at Axedale

As both Wally Stys and Damien Clear carded a nett 67, they will play off for the medal on the May medal day. The putting was shared between Paul Moore and Chris Kanaris with 27 putts each. Nearest the pins were Keith Rodda on the 4th, Karel Turang on the 9th, Jason McClure on the 11th, Jing Biscocho on the 17th and 2nd shot on the 18th was Mark Sciberras. 04 April 20183 PERSON AMBROSE Today was a 3 Person Ambrose, the winning team blitzed the course, President Adrian Hanks, Captain Tony DiBella and Mark Sciberras played their butts off to finish with a 59-4-55, and that was with one over the card on the back nine. Runners up were a team from Hepburn Springs in Neil Bruce, Les Healey and Leon Hedwards with 66-5 1/3 - 60 2/3. Nearest the pin on the 4th was Adrian Hanks.

A grade and monthly medal winner was Robyn MacRae 96-25-71 from runner up Judy Quick 94-20-74. B grade winner was Jenny McSwain 101-29-72 from runner up Jenny Kerr 117-41-76. 30 March 2018RCH GOOD FRIDAY 2 PERSON AMBROSEToday we played a 2 person ambrose to raise money for the Good Friday Royal Childrens Hospital Appeal. We had approximately 80 players playing on a warm sunny Kyneton day. We had representatives from 13 different clubs including our own club, they came from Gisborne, Riverside, Belvoir Park, Woodend, Mt. Derrimut, Torquay, Lancefield, Moonah Links, Goonawarra, The National, Northern and 2 players from Ireland who are touring Australia. The mens winners of the day were from Woodend in Paul and Seamus Whelan (2 3/4) 61 1/4, on a countback from Tim Maddern and Paul Delia (3/4) 61 1/4. The mixed winners were Gini Dalton and David Bath (6 1/2) 62 1/2 from Robyn MacRae and Pat Clohesy (10) 65. The men\'s and lady\'s longest drives were won by both Gisborne visitors, Trevor Lambert and Kerry Peterson. Nearest the pins were Chris Simpson on the 4th, Gavin Winwood and Kerry Peterson on the 9th, Seamus Whelan and Robyn MacRae on the 11th, and Damien Clear and Gini Dalton on the 17th. A great day was had by all and the total amount raised by the club for the RCH Appeal was $2,200.00
28 March 2018STABLEFORD Today there were 28 players and the competition was stableford. Leon Hedwards from Hepburn Springs with a hadicap of 9 had the best score of 36 points. Ross Foreman (11) came in runner up with 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Shane Toll from Hepburn on the 4th and Pat Clohesy on the 9th. These players lost the countback but won a ball for their 35 points. Len Fouracre, Paul Moore and Barry Keane.
28 March 2018ANNUAL KYNETON/TRENTHAM CHALLENGE. Kyneton has once again bought home the \"PO\" for coming second in the annual challenge. Trentham girls managed an average of 29.66 and Kyneton had 27.58. We will have to win the trophy back next year when we play on our own course. The individual winners for the day were - for Kyneton - Gini Dalton with 37 points from Beth Murray on 33 points. for Trentham - Veronica Maher 35 points on a countback from Mandy Bestwick also with 35 points. Nearest the pins were Robyn MacRae for Kyneton on the 2nd, Rhonda Bradley for Trentham on the 5th, Mandy Bestwick for Trentham on the 13th and Deidre Dawes for Kyneton on the 15th. 27 March 2018ROYAL WOMENS HOSPITAL 4BBB STABELFORD Today the ladies played for the right to represent our club at the district final of the Royal Womens 4BBB stableford to be held at Castlemaine on the 4th May. The field was smaller than usual, everyone must be saving themselves for when we represent Kyneton at the annual Kyneton/Trentham challenge tomorrow. The winners today were Jenny Kerr (44) and Sandra Turnbull (36) with 43 points, they will represent Kyneton at Castlemaine. The winners of the local competition were Beth Murray (23) and Lois Johnston (25) with 44 points. The runners up were Jenny McSwain (29) and Bron Dwyer (24) with 42 points on a countback from Denise Murphy (16) and Jan Laidlaw (33) also with 42 points. Nearest the pins were Denise Murphy on the 4th and Ruth Booker on the 9th.
24 March 2018NO COMPETITIONToday there was lightening around when the field was thinking about starting and with the rain coming down steadily the golf for the day was cancelled. There has been approximately 30mls rain, the course will appreciate the fall, and it will bring the level of the dams up a bit. On Good Friday 30th March there is a 2 Person Ambrose being held at the club. Fields of men or mixed, go on line to Captain Tony at kgccap@gmail.com and put your entries in early. It helps to know numbers prior to the day for catering purposes.
21 March 2018STABLEFORD 20 guys hit the course today on a typical Kyneton lovely autumn day and the game was stableford. Noel Alldis was in charge and with a handicap of12 had the best score for the day with 41 points. The runner up was Simon Furness also on 12 handicap with 37 points. No body made it to the 4th for nearest the pin, but Pat Clohesy had an eagle on the 6th hole, great second shot Pat !. Balls were handed to Ross Foreman with 35 points, Colin O\'Sullivan with 35 points and Pat Clohesy also with 35 points.
20 March 2018PAR It was cool and quite windy today for golf. With members playing in Castlemaine’s open day there was a small field with 6 ladies playing 18 holes and 4 playing 9. We played Par and everyone capably managed to score both their par and stableford points. In the Nine Hole competition Vicki Nettleton (30) won on a count back from Helen Claverdon- Jones (45), both scoring -1. In the Open Grade Jenny Kerr (45) had a fantastic round scoring +4 to win with Joan Gibbs (26) coming second with +2. Nearest the Pin on the 4th went to Vicki Nettleton and on the 17th to Joan Gibbs. Balls were awarded to Jenny Kerr +4, Joan Gibbs +2, Vicki Hardwick +1 and Vicki Nettleton -1. Well done to everyone. Next week we have the Royal Women’s Hospital 4BBB on Tuesday. 14 March 20184 BALL AGGREGATE Today was a warm autumn day, the competition was 4 Ball Aggregate Stableford and the winners for the day were: Karel Turang and Les Healey from Hepburn Springs with a total of 69 points. Runners up were Neil Watts and Peter Cameron with a total of 60 points. Nearest the pins were Chris Kanaras on the 4th and Mark Sciberras on the 9th. Balls were handed to (2 lefties) Glen Jacobs and Col Cooney with 62 points. David Stark and John Dawson with 57 points. Noel Alldis and Col O\'Sullivan with 55 points. 3 Ladies ventured to Axedale for their Annual Tournament\'s 3 person stableford - best 2 out of 3 scores on each hole. Bron Dwyer, Robyn MacRae and Denise Murphy came in with 77 points which gave them a mention in dispatches and a small trophy to bring home.

A grade winner today was Beth Murray 97-23-73 from runner up Denise Murphy 91-16-75. B grade winner on a countback was Jenny McSwain 102-29-73 from Jan Laidlaw 106-33-73. 12 March 2018INAUGRURAL KYNETON GOLF vs KYNETON GOLF BOWLS TOURNAMENT The inaugural Kyneton Golf versus Kyneton Golf Bowls Tournament took place on Labour Day 12.3.2018. Golf Contest A mystery 9 hole 2 person Ambrose golf round was won by Golf Team - Denise Murphy and Grace Parkinson with a nett 27.75. The Runners up were Bowls team - John Dawson and Tony DiBella with a nett 28.5. Least Putts went to Graham and Nick Williamson with 10. Nearest the pins on the 9th was Jason McClure and on the 17th was Jesper Hansen. A Sausage sizzle in the clubrooms followed the golf contest. After Lunch the contestants hit the Bowling Green for 2 x 5 end pairs games. The Bowls contest was won by Bowls team - John Dawson and Tony DiBella with 2 wins. Runners up were Golf Team – Denise Murphy and Grace Parkinson with 1 win and a draw on a countback from Golf Team - Jason McClure and Jesper Hansen. (Who have been aptly named the giant killers for their magnificent win over Bowls Team, Graham and Nick Williamson) The Annual Trophy will be presented to the Golf Team who won the day with 15 points to 11, at a later date.

06 March 2018IRISH THREE BALL. Today we have visitors from 19 different clubs playing our Irish threeball. Their comments and response to our course and its condition is testiment to the work put in by our Course Superintendant, Hayden Plowman and his willing helpers. The winners team of Robyn MacRae from Kyneton, Tina Fountain and Irene Davey from Seymour with a total of 88 points from Dot McGillvray, Dot Trott, and Carol Stuart from Heathcote with 81 points from Carmel Knowles, Di Addison and Marlene Bevan from Buninyong with 80 points on a countback from 3 other teams. The longest drive for A grade was Suzanne Velk from Gisborne and B grade was Joan James from Belvoir Park. Nearest the pins were Diane Byrne from Seymour on the 4th, Marion Orr from Kyneton on the 11th and Di Lewis from Trentham on the 17th. The daily winner was Peter Kewiuk (18) with 39 points from runner up Col O\'Sullivan (16) with 37 points on a countback from Neil Watts also with 37 points. There was only a small field of 9 in the open division and 4 players in the Nine Hole Competition. The winner of the open division was Lois Johnston (25) with 36 points and runner up Joan Gibbs (27) with 35 points. The Nine Hole competition was won by Jenny Kerr (45) with 19 points on a count back from Vicki Nettleton (30) also with 19 points.
