Conditions of Play.

Competitions.

  • Only financial members are eligible to win trophies.

  • Competition entry fees are set by the Committee. Players should pay the fee and record their names on the start sheet.

  • Timesheets will be followed wherever possible, although the Starter or Match Committee may vary hit-off times.

  • Play is in groups of four unless otherwise directed by the Starter or Match Committee.

  • Hit-off times will be set by the Captain or Match Committee prior to play.

  • Play begins from the 1st or 10th tee unless otherwise directed.

  • Only players with registered handicaps may enter competitions.

  • The maximum handicap for Medal, Special and Gold Letter events is 27.

  • Players must use the handicap displayed on the day of play.

  • Countbacks decide ties unless the specific event conditions state otherwise.

  • Matching cards will follow the method recommended in the Rules of Golf Appendix.

Shall be as recommended in the Rules of Golf Appendix.

Motorized Golf Karts
In Special and Gold Letter events, motorised golf carts may be used only by members who are eligible to use a cart throughout the year.

Player Responsibilities

  • Check and record the correct score.

  • Check and record the correct handicap on the scorecard.

  • Ensure the scorecard is signed by both the player and marker.

  • Return the scorecard to the Match Committee.

Better Times Cup

Awarded to the player with the best nett aggregate over two specified stroke rounds. Ties are decided by countback.

Handicap Divisions
When possible divisions will be:
Fields of 50 players or more
A Grade 0 – 12
B Grade 13 – 18
C Grade 19+

Fields of fewer than 50 players
A Grade 0 – 15
B Grade 16+
C Grade -

Medal Rounds

The best nett score is declared the winner. In the event of a tie a playoff will take place on holes 15,16 and 17. The maximum handicap is 27, and only Club members are eligible to win a Medal.

Club Foursomes

  • To be played for by one Stroke round of Straight Foursomes with the lowest nett score being the winner.

  • Handicaps are added then halved.

  • Ties to be decided by countback.

Medal of Medallists

Contested during the November Medal round by the 12 monthly Medal winners from the previous November through October. Ties are decided by countback. Players use the handicap displayed on the day, with hit-off from 11:30 am.

H.B.Stewart Mixed 4BBB PAR
Played over 18 holes.

George Hall Mixed Foursomes
Played over 18 holes.

Seniors STABLEFORD Championship.

  • Seniors is classed as any member over the age of 60 as of 1st of January.

  • Shall be decided over three rounds of Stableford.

  • Count backs will be on the 3 rd round of play, all decisions will be through the match committee.

Mid – Week Trophy Championship (Open)

  • This championship shall be completed in two rounds of stroke-play.

  • To qualify a player must have played 5 rounds of the mid-week events prior to the Championship.

  • The lowest Nett score over 2 rounds shall be the winner. Countbacks will be on the 2nd round decided by the match committee.

Mens Club Championship.

  • Contested in three divisions: Open, available to every male Club member; B Grade for handicaps 13–18; and C Grade for handicaps 19 and above.

  • Aside from the allocation of Divisions, handicaps shall not be considered.

  • All players must play 5 rounds of competition golf at Kyneton to qualify – November to November inclusive.

  • Two qualifying rounds will decide the top eight in each division.

  • Two qualifying rounds of stroke play determine the top eight qualifiers in each division, who advance to the match play competition. Handicaps are not considered during a round.

  • A player may qualify either for the grade determined by his handicap or for the Open division. If a B Grade player qualifies for the Open and accepts that place, the ninth qualifier fills the vacated B Grade position.

  • Ties for position and place after the qualifying rounds shall be decided by sudden death until a decision is reached.

  • Final rounds for B and C grade will be over 18 holes. Final of the Open Championship will be over 36 holes. All tee off times shall be decided by the Captain.

Junior Club Championship.

  • One qualifying round of stroke play shall decide the top four qualifiers and a seeded draw made for the Match Play section of the competition

  • At no time shall handicaps be considered.

  • Ties after the qualifying round shall be decided by countback.

  • Match Play over 18 holes.

  • Ties in Match Play shall be decided by sudden death following the prescribed number of holes.

  • Matches shall be decided on the day laid down in the programme, at a time directed by the Match Committee.

C.C. Fisher Doubles Knockout

  • The C.C. Fisher Doubles Knockout is a handicap event.

  • Teams will nominate prior to the event and following one Qualifying round of Stableford, the top eight pairs will qualify for match play. Ties will be decided by countback.

  • Draw for matchplay is by lot and not seeded. Match to be played over 18 holes under the rules applying to Handicap Match Play, with strokes given as received under the system adopted by the A.G.U.

  • Ties after 18 holes will be decided by sudden death until a decision is reached.

  • Strokes shall be given as per previous 18 holes.

  • Players to play of their daily handicap.

  • Matches to be played on the day and time laid down in the programme, at the time directed by the match committee.

  • The above condition can be varied at the Captain’s discretion with the exception of the Final, which must be played on the day laid down in the programme.

R.S.L Singles Knockout

  • The RSL Singles Knockout is a handicap event. Following one round of stroke play, the top 32 players will qualify for Match Play.

  • Ties in qualifying round will be decided by countback.

  • Draw for Match Play by Lot and not a seeded draw.

  • Matches conducted over 18 holes and under the Rules of Golf applying to Handicap Match play.

  • Ties after 18 holes of match play shall be decided by sudden death until a decision is reached. Strokes shall be given as they were in the round.

  • Players to play off their daily handicap.

  • Matches to be played on the day and time laid down in the programme, at the time directed by the match committee. This condition can be varied at the Captain’s discretion with the exception of the final which must be played on the day laid down in the programme.

James Rennick Trophy

  • To be played over 54 holes of stroke play. (three 18 Holes)

  • Handicaps must be adjusted between rounds, players playing of their daily handicap.

  • The winner shall be the player with the lowest net score over 54 holes.

  • The final 18 players shall hit off in a seeded draw.

  • Ties shall be decided by a playoff under direction of the Match Committee.

  • Handicaps shall be the handicap at time of playoff.

G.J Bolton Trophy

  • To be awarded to the player who records the best four net scores out of the six medal rounds from April to September each year.

  • Ties shall be decided by using the 5 th medal round then the 6 th .
